Hayward graduated from Morehouse College in 1979 with a Bachelors degree in Music. He's been teaching since 1993 and teaches beginner band instruments. Hayward participated in school bands from the 4th grade until his graduation from college. While in college, he performed in marching band, concert band, jazz band, woodwind ensemble and saxophone quartet.
