I was born in New Orleans. I became interested in music in high school and played in a band which played all the contemporary music of the day. After high school I received an associates degree in music therapy from Delgado Jr. College. I then moved to Boston and attended the Berklee College of Music which is considered by many to be the Harvard of Jazz schools, where I received a degree in arranging and composition.
