As a Louisiana native, I starting learning French in the 4th grade. I quickly fell in love with the language and culture and continued my studies for 15 years. As a high school senior, I won a statewide scholarship for a summer immersion program at The University of Liege in Belgium, which allowed me to speak the language daily and travel in my spare time.
