I have been on both sides of the tutor-student relationship. As a student I realize that the subject matter may be intimidating and daunting and that mastery may seem hopelessly out of reach. But it isn't! As a teacher, my strategy is to break the topic down to its simplest concepts. Once the student has mastered these concepts, we will put them to use in working through examples and problems of varying difficulty.
