I am a student at Columbia University's School of General Studies. I have worked as a teacher and as a teaching assistant in both formal academia and in non-traditional educational environments. I have experienced classrooms in a variety of educational settings as both a student and teacher, and I feel that through my experiences I am uniquely attune to discrepancies that exist within academic programs. I feel very strongly about education as an incredible privilege but also recognize it as a ma
