My teaching experience began in Seattle in 2005, where I worked with diverse groups of students in low-income neighborhoods to provide them with garden-based education in schools and after-school centers through a small non-profit, Cultivating Youth. I was pleased to instill in these students an interest in science and nature while they inspired me to take my teaching career abroad.
