This May, I graduated with a Masters in Teaching, and a Reading Specialist Certificate, from my alma mater, Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During my fall semester of senior year, I applied the theories I learned in the undergraduate school classroom to practice in an elementary school classroom during a fourteen-week period of student teaching. My experiences during that period were exciting and inspired an ever-increasing enthusiasm about my career as a teacher.
