For over twenty years, teaching has been my way to share my love of writing and of literature. I graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in English from Smith College, and then received my Ph.D. from Columbia University. Five years of experience in publishing at Random House honed my proof-reading and editorial skills. My background in writing informs my teaching: my book on Confessional Poetry was published by Macmillan and I am at work on a novel about the Salem Witch Trials. I have taught
