I grew up in Western Massachusetts where I attended Berkshire Country Day School in Lenox [I commuted over an hour each day to get to school]. I headed off to college early at Bard College at Simon's Rock, and then transferred to Oberlin College in Ohio for the remainder of my undergraduate education. I majored in cinema studies at Oberlin, but also took classes in Chinese, Islamic Art History, Sufism, and political science. After college I returned to Western Massachusetts where I honed my film
