I currently teach in a local school district instructing high-school students enrolled in a Newcomer Language Academy. In this role, I work with recently arrived students, aged 18-21, who have had interrupted formal education. They have low levels of English proficiency and low levels of literacy in their native languages. In the past, I worked as a volunteer serving adult English Language Learners (from beginner to advanced) in two community-based programs.My favorite part about teaching
