I have been a language and linguistics person all my life, from growing up in Germany as a military dependent and having German language mandatory through the grades, to having gravitated to European and international business responsibility throughout my career. At one time I was poised to do a Master's degree in German before going into industry. I have lived and worked in France and Germany, and while in those countries as a consultant or a project leader my clients accepted me as an insider.
