I have 7 years experience teaching at the high school level. When history is taught as a relevant part of our lives and culture, it becomes easy, and I notice students making connections between historical events and people with their own lives and experience.French was my minor because it is such a beautiful language that I find brings a better understanding of English, and vice versa.
