Since attending Bard College in 2009, I have spent a large amount of time volunteering and teaching. In college I studied abroad in Costa Rica. There I took intensive Spanish coursework and taught English to children. While in my undergraduate institution, I also volunteered with high school youth in Upstate New York, giving extra assistance with homework and mentorship. I found during this early exposure to teaching that it was something that I was passionate about and had a natural skill for.
