In 1978 I earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in German from Lake Forest College, along with a minor in Math. I received a Master of Arts in German Literature from Northwestern University in 1984.After living in Germany from 1979-80, I began my teaching career at Mt. Carmel High School in Chicago, where I taught German I-IV and Algebra from '80-83. I moved to Miami, FL and taught Algebra and Finite Math from '84-85.
