I earned my Master's degree in English at James Madison University in 1999, after which I studied in Texas Christian University's doctoral program in English Composition, which is one of the premier programs in the nation. I have two Bachelor's degrees from Eastern Mennonite University--one in English, the other in History--and I am currently PACE eligible and plan to begin obtaining my formal teaching certificate this fall (fall 2014). I scored in the top 15% of test takers for the Praxis II
