I first became interested in education as a young child and was lucky to have inspiring and effective teachers. I majored in Elementary Education and student-taught 4th graders. I enjoyed my time with them so much I went on to work full-time as a 4th grade teacher, instructing all subjects. I wanted an additional challenge so I decided to volunteer as an ESL teacher overseas in East Africa.I ended up living and working in East Africa for almost three years, and received my Master's degree
