I graduated from university with a Bachelor's in Spanish Education. I started my career teaching middle school Spanish. After a few years, I felt that my spoken Spanish wasn't quite good enough to teach comfortably in the target language. I decided to join the Peace Corps and moved to Panama. In Panama, I was able to improve my Spanish and also started teaching English as a Foreign language. I taught small classes and also some tutoring. When I returned to the states, I started teaching English
